My first century, on accident.

It was suposed to be about 60 miles. Out to lake Martin and back. My second time on this route. Missed a turn on my way back. I was expecting to see my sign for Rt. 72, but there was only the local street name. I should have known better with these Alabama country roads. Anyway, about a mile the wrong way, I realized I was going north because of the sun. However, I knew I would hit a major road Rt 228, so I kept on thinking that there would definately be a sign for the route back to auburn on 228. Nope. I kept on maby 15 miles past auburn till I hit a crossroad that I knew. Finally took that back home. Got home after dark. Also got to meet lots of people while asking for water.

Luckilly, I learned my lesson having been left out in the dark before. I always have my headlight and tail light. But now on long rides, I've started carrying clear safety glasses should it get dark.

EIther way, My first century!!
