Hi folks,

I have a spotless Raleigh Grand Prix from the 1970s. It looks exactly like a bike I saw in the 1974 catalog on Sheldon Brown's site but I understand that the bikes looked the same for several years. Is there a way I can confirm the year using the serial number?

A few details: lugged frame, cottered cranks, Weinmann centerpull brakes, Simplex rear der. Made in Holland.

Thanks!

Hi there--I am brand new to the site and have been doing some reading. If you follow what this link says: http://bulgier.net/pics/bike/Catalogs/Retro-Raleighs/RaleighSerialNumbers.jpg then you can figure out when and where your Raleigh was built.
