I thought I read yesterday that Slipstream...I think that was the name...had made the field, but today I don't see them. Do they have a different name/sponsor or are they not going to be in the field?

DP

Edit...I just found the answer to my own question. Sorry for the new thread.

They are Team Garmin/Chipotle

Yeah, they changed from Slipstream-Chipotle to Garmin-Chipotle. It just doesn't have the same ring to it.

You seem to spend a lot of your time in the dark, with your hand over your eyes. Can I interest you in a trip to another planet where life might be more intelligent?

Why is a raincoat manufacturer sponsoring a bike team?

Columbia makes a lot more than just raincoats. They have a whole line of "outdoor gear." Baselayers, fleece, outwear, etc. I have a few Columbia baselayers. I sometimes wear them when I ride.

I understand Columbia is gearing up (if they haven't already) to produce high end cycling clothing. Putting their name on a pro cycling team (riding in the most watched sporting event in Europe), is a shrewd marketing tactic, since they're trying to break into the European market.
