For those who read my "I need advice fast" thread. This is the bike. I still have to pinch myself. Thank God for this one.

I note it's a smallish bike -- about 50cm. You a smallish guy?

I is. The bike fits perfect. This seems like a magazine calibler story. Average Joe Schmoe finds a neglected dirty bike, cleans it up, replaces wear items, does a little tlc and brings back a fine racing machine.

Incredible! Sweet looking ride! The levers seem a little high though! Besides that all I can say is, "WOW"!

I guess I have to start cruising the local pawn shops for a deal like that!

Hey that's pretty spanky for $500 US. In this country, something like that would run to about $3,000, which is about three times what you paid for that.

Alas, around here, everybody knows that such a bike is worth something!
Just a word on those wheels-best to save them for time trials, and get a training wheelset. I'm sure those CF wheels ride hard, and they are fragile, too.

Diamondback is feeling too guilty about his good fortune and probably doesn't want us to feel any more envious, but I believe those wheels alone go for about $900 new!

We should start some BikeForums awards. Diamondback would probably win the 2001 Luckiest Purchase of The Year award!
