I tried search and didn't find anything about this, so forgive me if this has already been mentioned. The city of Folsom is putting on their first annual Cyclebration Sept 12-14. This is supposed to be an annual event from now on. It is a weekend of cycling events - road racing, mtb racing, family events, century/metric century, etc. Seems like it should be a blast.
The city has a website with details - http://www.folsomcyclebration.com

Very cool. It's great that Folsom is having such an event. We'll have to keep this on the sticky calendar so we don't forget.
Excellent, thanks for posting! I might even be ready for a century by then, well, a metric anyway....

Looking at the metric century course map, read the last half of the laid back ride from two weeks ago. Hilly but not too crazy. Don't know about net, but you'd start at ~150', eventually hit a hill up to 1000', come back down, climb up to 1400' (into Auburn), come back down and end back in Folsom. (OK, net is going to be 0 because you start and end at the same place)
I can't say about the higher stuff, but it starts along Oak in Folsom - fairly rural road for Folsom/Orangevale - up Hazel/Sierra College - busy but wide and fairly flat and smooth - out Calvit Stallman before the big hill on Sierra College - Calvitt Stallman is a fairly crappy road surface, but not too busy - then up Auburn-Folsom Rd to Auburn. I've never even driven that ;) . On the way back down from Auburn, it takes a different route and turns off Calvitt Stallman down Barton - similar rd, not too busy but crappy surface in Loomis, better in Granite Bay. Takes a small street that I've never seen to Beal's Point on Folsom Lake and takes the River trail into Folsom
