No , but i hope the tour is good
The Tour will not "suck." It will not have the (arguably) strongest team nor the defending champion but it will be the spectacle that it always is. The crowds, especially on the summits, will be huge. US ratings will be in the crapper but I doubt the presence/absence of Alberto Contador will have much to do witrh that.

Nope maybe the first day, after that it might be mentioned in passing. Phil has always been a Tour Cheerleader look at the 180 he did with Rasmussen.

Yeah. I wish Versus would just cover the Twilight Crit live instead. All the pro tour riders you've never heard of suck, and it would be a lot more interesting to watch Ben-Jacques Maynes lose a sprint than watching whether Andy Schleck can 1-up his brother. For sure.
The TDF will never suck. Only to those who don't understand anything except winning and losing. The racing action itself is more interesting than who wins or loses. If nothing else because it is so unpredictable.

After watching today's Stage 1 I can officially say that the Tour does NOT suck this year. In fact, it was great to watch from the trainer in the rain here.
Also, I didn't hear one word about Astana from anyone during the entire broadcast.

Where the hell is Bob Roll. I could not stand him for a couple of years. Then he quit being so goofy. I guess they told him to tone it down. Seemed to know more than the rest of the commentators combined.

I rolf'ed when I heard Ligget say he honestly felt this was now going to be the best (read: cleanest) tour they'd seen in several years.....didn't he say the exact same thing last year (before Rassmussen got the yellow jersey)?
We heard about drugs being eliminated from the Tour from the organisers post Festina.
Actually I think this will be one of the cleanest Tours. The times will be down and you won't see any one rider or team dominate day after day. I really hope that the times when you could dope up a few domestiques to protect your GC man have gone.
