Normally I'd join you but I'm working as a corner marshall for the 4th of July Criterion bike race in Davis in the morning.

I'm riding to Davis with the Wheelmen to watch the crits :D

Everyone going to watch/ride in the Crit?

I went last year. Actually happened on it by accident - I wasn't on road biking forums that much and had no idea about them. My wife and I went to have breakfast at Cafe Bernardo there in down town and ran right in to the races. Made for a pretty fun breakfast.

If you can handle the mileage, from Rancho you'd be looking at about 70 miles round-trip if you take the ARBT to old town, then head down west cap to the causeway. Otherwise, you can drive with your bike - 50W to the west capitol exit (last exit before the causeway) and park down there. Then ride across the causeway on the bike trail and in to town. That would make it more like 35 miles. In fact, the Bike Hikers are doing that exact ride tomorrow AM, starting from there and doing a leisurely ride in to town.
