Greetings Fellow E-Bikers,

Sadly I'm writing to you in tough times - in the past 4 weeks I have two electric bicycles stolen from my garage. The first was a wilderness energy hub on a Maroon Nirve Rio bicycle with Wald Side racks. This bicycle also had a 36v 20Ah Ping LifePo4 battery on it.

The second, stolen yesterday morning, was a Schwinn Alloy SS (Maroon and Gold) and was also a wilderness energy hub with side racks. Both were stolen out of my garage in Manhattan Beach and were locked (they cut the locks).

In both cases, they did not take the chargers when they left (even though both were plugged in to recharge).

Should anyone see one of these bikes on the road or hear of someone asking for chargers with pictures (obviously there are a lot of people shopping for chargers without having stolen my bike!) - please let me know.

I am offering a $500.00 reward for information that leads to the recovery of my bicycles.

Out for justice!

I'd put an ad out in the paper about the bikes and possibly notify your neighbours of what happened and ask if they could call you if they see anything. Chances are the thief is very local, as they may have seen you zipping around and followed you home.

The fact that they didn't steal the chargers might mean that they don't know anything about ebikes or what the bikes are really worth, and didn't steal them with the intent to sell, so they might still be around your immediate area. ??

I hope you have some luck getting them back. Are you familiar with bear fencing, for your next bike?

Wow, you keep your bikes locked IN the garage? I don't feel safe anymore. Sometimes I don't even lock my bike up (not intentionally... I just forget to bring the bike lock). I try to uglify my bike so it doesn't reflect the thousands of dollars I spent on it.

Probably same person(s) nabbed 'em both, Guessing soeone spotted you on the street and followed you home or maybe you mentioned it where you work or play.

You didn't say if your garage lock was jimmied or broken or if the police responded.

Hi,
I had a bike with a Wilderness Energy hub stolen from a subway station bike rack. It had two locks on it. It really bummed me out, the bad guy didn't get the charger. I posted it on craigslist, but I never recovered it.

I've moved on, and I never leave the battery with the bike and I now have a Stock lock (http://www.stocksmfg.on.ca/). You should check them out
