Just how far south are you talking? I was in south-west Tasmania last week, pouring rain, freezing cold and winds of 60km/h. Still, that's preferable to the crap we've got here in Queensland right at the moment.

Love for the west coast right about now... well - today is nice and "warm" (30 ish)... but its only going to get worse again - like Tuesday night... Like it was this past weekend... ugh.

Can't beat coastal California for consistency..Winter summer the day time temperatures are near 70- give or take 15 degrees. But other than that. I hate heat. North can be better for summer riding, south miserable for Summer riding. Unless you are in a Mediterranean climate, you have at least 3 months of crappy weather.
Now if you could spend January, February, March on the north island of New Zealand and July, August, September on the central coast of California, you would have great all year cycling....

We're in the middle of an arctic deep freeze- temp tomorrow supposed to be -20C. And that's without wind chill!
