Well I decided to take my bike out for a spin, do a little shakedown, see what needed tightening, get the seat properly adjusted, little things.
I didn't really pick a direction out, just headed to a main road, four lanes wide at one point, and powered along it, round a roundabout and thought about heading home. But instead of heading home I saw a sign for a place my mum used to take me in the car, so I headed in that direction, trying to keep up with the cars doing 40... Even managed it on a couple of downhills. :)
After getting there and realising most of it had changed I started to head home, but whim struck and I went out to another city, twas only 15 odd miles from home, so thought why not... Why not took me all the way there and since I'd forgotten my lock I couldn't stop, plus it was getting late, all the shops where shutting, so I headed back home.
Very roughly I did 50 miles, probably more due to occasionally following white vans a lil bit too close. In four hours, including stopping to get myself a drink near the start, and an icecream near the end...
I felt like I could have done the whole ride all over again.
It was such fun, and such a rush!
Any recommendations in regards to cycle lights, I'm planning to do a longer ride and want to have something just in case I misjudge my timings and end up out in the dark?
