I just completed my maiden voyage on my road bike. My brother-in-law, a friend and I did 12.25 miles round trip on the American River bike trail. I am a little tired and a little sore but very happy to be out there.

That's great! :thumb:
Gotta start somewhere. Keep it up, and pretty soon, you'll be racing in the tour. :D
Excellent! I rode up and around it today too, along with a trip up the hill to Folsom Lake. Maybe I passed you somewhere?

Congratulations on this morning's ride. I hope you were out there at daybreak. That's the best time, especially if you're riding between Watt and Hazel.
@JoelS
We rode from Folsom Blvd (Hazel Lightrail station) past sunrise and back starting at 9:00am.
It's possible you were done by the time I started. Head out of the house at about 9:20. Picked up the trail at the footbridge (Rod Beaudry) and headed past the Fish Hatchery, over the bridge, and up to Folsom Lake and back on the other side of Lake Natoma. Got home about 11:30. Around 35 miles.
I was where you are about 2 1/2 months ago. Get out and ride as often as you can. The more you ride, the easier it gets.
If I passed you, I was on a blue Colnago, wearing a solid burgundy colored jersey and black shorts.
