Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
not sure who all out there is in Santa Barbara or Goleta, but this fire is wild! please be careful. if you are gonna be out doing activities wear a mask. my eyes were burning from being out only a few minutes last night. if you are heading this way, don't. the conditions are bad and only getting worse. stay safe

I live in the zone that was evacuated, north of cathedral oaks and west of patterson. The fire is currently headed right for my house. I'm currently staying with my in-laws in Thousand Oaks. Ironically the smoke was worse here than it was in the eastern part of the greater santa barbara area. I rode to Casitas Pass and partway up Gibraltar and the air was fine.

I did that century today, we didn't see any fires or smell any smoke...
Having said that, we went through some horrible fires down here last year around Irvine so I know what you poor Guys are going through, I feel really sorry for you.
They lifted the evacuation for most of the Goleta area, the smoke and ash has cleared up considerably, most of the southern fire lines are contained, and I am typing this from my own living room. :thumb:

Glad to hear you're back home safely. I hate all these fires we have around here, but I have to say it's much better than what those poor midwest people have to deal with (rain and flooding).

Happy to hear that you are safe and sound, even if you didn't get a new kitchen out of it...:D

Thanks. It's great to be back. (Even though we need to do some yardwork, and get a plumber to fix the kitchen sink...)

Thanks, the contest is over, it looks like he made the cut. Also, the fire is like 85% contained now, but its been burning slowly way west of the populated areas and with the prevailing winds I don't even really notice it anymore.
