To whose of you who've been hit by cars and uninjured what was the cost of your check-up/examination in the emergency room?

Now for those of you who were hit and injured, what were your total medical bills and the extent of your injuries?

I'm trying to find out average healthcare costs for cyclists who've been hit.

And to those of you who've been hit by uninsured drivers, did you manage to collect anything from them?

In another thread I talked about a Mexican delivery guy who has gotten a few tickets for no proof of insurance. A few of you emailed me and told me if he hit me and I had so much as a broken arm, I could be looking at $20,000 in bills that I would have to cover if I didn't have health insurance. I've since read that 26% of drivers in Mississippi are uninsured and 21% of drivers in Texas are uninsured. Scary isn't it. Someone sent me this link lol

It's also interesting that people seem to think an uninsured driver is more likely to hit you than an insured driver and I don't think that's true

The total cost of my medical bills from all the times I've been hit by a car is $0.00...

In other words, I've never had to visit an emergency room due to a collision with a car... though there was one collision where I probably SHOULD have gone... I was still in high school then, and got up and went to work. Turns out I did almost $1,000 damage to the front of the truck that hit me... and this was back in '91. ;)

Motorist that have lots of accidents either get dropped by the insurance companies or their rates go so high that they won't pay that much to be ensured anymore. Do you really believe all those bad drivers stop driving simply because they no longer have insurance?
