Check out the cat 3 and cat 4 climbs one right after each other - it should be very interesting to see if the leaders go for the summit points or the stage

It's too early in the stage, the little bump at the end might shake a loose cannon out of the peloton, but not like on stage 1 though.

Nice work stevesurf.

Sprinters day. That rise at the end will throw a wrench in some plans.

Oscar Friere.

It's a very cool, breezy day. Nothing exciting of note other than the scenery.

Chavanel is in the early break, up by >4 minutes.

So can we discuss the stage with no spoiler or....no?

Stage threads have an inherent spoiler element. If you don't want a spoiler, don't look at the stage thread during or after the stage.

That was a great sprinting finish; did it seem the peloton was faster than the 2006 version?

1. Thor Hushovd (N), Credit Agricole
2. Kim Kirchen (Lux), Team Columbia
3. Gerald Ciolek (G), Team Columbia
4. Robbie Hunter (SA) Barloworld
5. Erik Zabel (G), Milram

Zabel still in the mix. Damn.

soler looks dead, unless he is after the flame rouge title. poor bastrad, that crash yesterday must have hurt. +3' stage 1, +7'14" today. at least hunter still shakes things up at the front for barlo.

still waiting for a real sprinters finish...i want the old man to get some points (McEwen). i can say that because i'm older than him.

actually, Zabel's still surprisingly fast, for an old man and all.

OK, then what is the term for the last guy to finish? i know flame rouge is also the term for the 1km mark.

bit pissed, just got back from the sports bar with satellite TdF.

Someone should tell Hunter that sprinting uphill on the 11 generally isn't a good idea. He didn't even remotely look like he was going to get the gear going.

The quality of the tennis was great but I could have missed the first 2 sets and made it in time for the real action. The DVR is the greatest TV invention ever.

It was a pretty good sports day.

That's awarded out here in the average thread.
