I sold my car 3 months ago, and have been riding my bike everywhere. Im getting in great shape, and have alot of extra spending cash. When i see people driving around in there big trucks and suv, trying to look cool, it just makes me laugh, and they wonder where all there money is going. Just figured i would vent a little. THANKS.

This is the most tame, satisfied venting I have ever read? Congratulations on the lifestyle change.

Few of us regret what we do; most regret what we DON'T do, and converting earlier would fall under that category.

I regret not recognizing what I had when I was 15-16, and rode my 10-sp Schwinn EVERYWHERE; it was the facilitator that enabled me to find my long-estranged father (mom basically chased him away w/ her 'connections'). Changed my life, and only when I was nearing 40 did I realize what I'd left behind -- not the machine so much as the euphoria. Now that I've rediscovered it, I'm NEVER LETTING GO!!!

BTW, I'm car-free 4 years now -- still no regrets. My sister tried to hook me up with a car last month during a Habitat For Humanity dedication; friend was telling her of the 'stupendous deal' she could get. My sister looked at me with the "you getting this?" look. I returned a stern shake of the head -- "FORGET IT!"

For some people, those big trucks/suv's are necessary. But only some.
Congrats on the 3 months though.

Car free 8 years and feel the same, I should never have bought a car.

I was car free until I was 20.

Six years later I'm back where I was.
