My wife and I want to check out tandem riding without a big $ outlay. On our local craigslist I've found a 1998 crestline dyno 21 spd only rode 10 miles and freshly tuned for $400 (per owner, the bike mechanic was impressed as to how good of shape the bike was in) and a 2007 kent comfort cruiser owner assembled, adjusted and greased better than from factory (per owner email) for $250. On our single bikes I ride hard and recreationally with my wife and my wife rides mostly recreationally.
Which would be the better deal and\or advice on how to proceed.
Thanks - Outlander55

Neither brand is a 'great' choice. But Crestliner would be better than Kent.
Suggest you keep looking and get maybe a used Burley/Trek/ C'dale/'tana.

I'm going to look at a 5yr old Raleigh with less than 50 miles on it for $500. He originally wanted $675 (bought it new 5 yrs ago for over $1000 and his wife didn't like riding with him), and I've low balled someone on a Trek T100 (I think it's a T1000) for $500 (he wants $650) we'll see if he responds. $500 is my budget cap so we'll see what I can get for that much money. Thanks for the advice.
