Hi,
Anyone near Seattle have an (ideally 54 cm) Gunnar Sport they might let me ride around the block? You'll have my driver's license, and I'd even be willing to pay a few bucks for the chance... I'm thinking of ordering one but would really like to ride one first.

Alternatively, anyone own one and (dis)like it? I'm looking for something sportier than my Surly Long Haul Trucker (which is a bit of a beast) but that still has clearance for 25-28 mm tires (and perhaps fenders) and is a little less twitchy than a full-on race bike.

Thanks,
Daniel

check with larry at perfect wheels, he sometimes has a gunnar built up.

and the soma smoothie ES is another frame right up your alley.

Thanks for the tip. And I'd already posted a thread in the road forum asking for a Smoothie ES / Sport comparison. :)

I built up a Soma Smoothie ES this spring - and love, love, love it. I was looking at Surly before I stumbled across the Soma. I found the Soma a bit more "smooth" on the ride than the Surly, and more sporty for sure. The Soma is my daily rider and I have yet to tire of it or get tired riding it. After a couple months of riding the only upgrade I've had to do is better rims (went for Velocity) and I have all Velo on the rest of it and well, well worth it.

Stu and Alki Bike and Board worked with my on the build - he's also a huge support for commuters and supports both Surly and Soma builds.
