Hi all,

I'm trying to get my bike to Sweden, from the UK in August. Going to be studying out there for a year. I already have flights booked so can't cycle it there which would probably be the easiest option. But I have been looking at shipping options - the cheapest I have found so far is london-baggage.com for £135. IS this the best way - does anyone know anything cheaper?

Or should I just cut my losses and get a cheapo bike out there and leave mine tucked up back home?

Thanks,

Fe

I can't tell you if the shipping is expensive, but I can tell you what a cheapo bike costs in adds, or what a used bike costs in a LBS.

The cheapest but still usable bikes I find at internet adds seems to bee around 500 Sek, that would be £41, a used bike as I got in a LBS at the absolute lowest range, (and not that good then) was around 1000 SEK , that would be $82.

Now this kind of bikes isn't good, so depending on what Bike you have at home it's a question if it's worth it.

I guess $135 sounds a bit expensive to transport a bike as the price is halfways towards a new, quite good bike here.
