General Cycling Discussion - judging from looks alone...............

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have always liked the funky look of the softride frames.
Would not ride one but they look neat.

Coolest looking bikes are fixies, period!
The Rivendell website pics do not capture the beauty of the bike. http://www.rivendellbicycles.com/html/bikes_rivendellframes.html
But I don't remember ever seeing a prettier bike. A wrench in my LBS has a coffee colored Waterford with chromed king James lugs. Gorgeous.

Nothing beats the look of a lugged steel frameset built up with a 10-speed Campy Record group and 36-spoke Open Pro wheels. The classic look of understated elegance.

MMMM, Vanilla...check out those lugs, and if you like discs on a road frame, look at that beautiful cross frame. If money was no object I'd have one for sure!

Hey, Mr. Jerk:
Not everyone is a poser (like some folks). And I don't recall your asking us to post what 'you' think is a cool bike.

I like the way this one looks - now it just needs a Rohloff, different pedals, fenders, v-brakes, some slicks and a nice big rack on the front and back :) Well, its a good starting point at least.

Crazy TT and pursuit bikes are my favourite. Orbee's Old Fiathful, Merckx's first hour bike (with the small front wheel), Hotta carbon monocoques, Boardman's Lotus, seventies funny bikes, CSC's current Cervelo TT bike, Pinarello's figure-of-eight frame (Bjarne Riis rode it), and Millar's Worlds-winning sport UK TT bike is gorgeous.

Personally, I prefer a shower. I find car wash brushes and pressure hoses a little harsh on my tender bits.

I just thought about that a bit more (I must be bored). It's actually quite a gross mental picture now. ;)
Though 'tis a convenient way to wash your bike, yourself and your clothing at the end of a ride...

nuff said...one-speed, going into battle. I didn't see anything Shimano or Campy coming off the Brit landing craft at Normandy (mainly b/c I was born in 1968), but history shows they were SINGLE GEARED BIKES!
