I was forced to go sailing, water skiing, boating in general. I didn't even have time to ride my bike!:D

The only bad point is that I dropped my camera in 90 feet of water. :( (I'm glad it was a cheap digital rather than my decent stuff. :p)

I got to go to the Indians game, went to Rock Bottom for dinner, stayed at the Conrad, (I ride my bike almost right past it on my way to work so it is close to home) wife's idea. Then had a pool party Saturday afternoon. Great weekend, but I only got to ride about 10 miles on Sunday and that was my comfort bike.

I rode to the pool and reveled in the stares of the thin tanned people as they saw all the glory of a fat white jsharr in bib shorts and jersey and cleats. Changed and swam with my family, then changed and rode home. Cooked out with neighbors. That was Friday.

Saturday, off to lake with family and friends. Spent the day tubing, skiing, lounging on the beach, where again, I got to enjoy the stares of the thin brown lake people as they watched a fat white (turning to a mild red) jsharr splash and cavort. None of the harpoons hit me by the way.

Sunday, took the boys for a bike ride and wading at the creek for the morning hours. (skipped church). Napped with the three year old, then had some friends over for the afternoon.

Did not get to sail, but hey, you win some, you lose some.

I went up Mt. Lemmon with a photographer buddy of mine and his wife and shot the fireworks. Hard to hit 'em from so far away...

I'm feelin' ragged, Tom thanks for askin'. Hardly did anything all weekend and spent the better part of yesterday fragged up on the couch. At least it seems to be coming hurry up. :)

I helped paint my mother in-law's porch while my wife just had to work.
The high point was taking my son to his first fireworks show. We usually watch it from our front porch. I thought it was high time he experienced the show as close as possible. My boy loved it and that is all that matters.

Wow, I used to go up on Mt. Lemmon when I was a kid. Loved that place. There was a little lake we used to fish in. Rosewood, Rosemound, something like that. Can't find it on mapquest.

Edit: Rose Canyon Lake

Hi Stacey.

Well, for my sailing, for the first time, I sailed a little Sunfish. I always thought they were a pedestrian little sailboat......I was WRONG! They handle a lot like a little Lightning! I had a good hull plane going. They are a light air sailboat, but you get out there in a 20 knot wind, and they get quite challenging to sail! A whole lot of fun! My record is still intact, though, I've still never dumped a sailboat over yet. :p

Sunfish, and most boats of that ilk, are a blast to sail. They plane easily and are surprisingly stable. I used to sail a Dolphin Sr that I gave to Cuda2K. I would take that thing out in heavy air and plane past the big keel boats, having a blast watching my friends under reefed sails going slow!!!!!!!!!!1

God yeah, and I was amazed as to how far into the wind I could point it! I think I'm going to get one!

Only if mounted on the head of a cat or a shark. Cats are afraid of the water and sharks do not get into fresh water all that often.

Try being in the shoes of my wife's aunt and uncle's neighbors - someone living on the lake where they live has a cottage/house on an island in the middle of the lake, it burned down the morning after the 4th.

I had an awesome 4th. I was inside almost the entire day reading Peter Capstick's book A return to the long grass, and watching South Park.

Oh wait, that actually sucked.

Big family get-together. Over 90 people, but it was fun regardless.

I had dinner with the head of my department (and basketball buddy) and his wife, both of whom were professors at my graduate program. We basically drank a lot and *****ed about how badly the administration sucked at Penn State. It was great!

I'm glad it's over, glad I tell you! For the past week it has sounded like I live in down town Falujah. The holiday is "The 4th of July", and when is it celebrated? C'mon... All together... On July Fourth? That's right.

Not June 29th thru July 7th you gobsmacked idiots!

Kindly find the largest Roman Candle you have, insert it firmly and deeply into your rectal orifice, light the fuse and face the other direction. Dumbass!

Most people here have quit firing their shotguns, even dumb rednecks kinda understand what goes up, unless it goes into orbit, must come down. But the dummies up the road from me were firing off fireworks at 1030 last night.
