I am planning on sending out a frame to get painted. Has anyone done this? Does anyone have an opinion on the ballpark cost I should expect to get a frame painted without the fork? Thanks,
I would say for a proper painting, including stripping
old paint, masking off BB threads etc. and using a quality
paint about $200. Joe Bell (probably THE best painter
out there) starts at $225 and goes up to $400 (without
any custom paints etc.).

Depends on where you go, who does it, an how its painted.
If you do all the prep work yourself, take it to a body shop and ask them to spray it with whatever color they have available.....maybe twenty bucks.
If you go to "Justin" from American Chopper, it may cost you several hundred.
If you are sending it out add on postage and insurance.
Sorry this is not much help, but neither were your details :)
