Texas - replacement spokes

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I just broke a spoke on my 2006 Dura Ace WH-7701 rear wheel and the shop I went to (woodlands TX) said they couldn't get me a replacement and didn't know how to. WTF?
Any suggestions of a helpful shop in the Houston area or a website I could get 1 at.
Thx

The Shimano tech docs lists the part number for replacement spokes, found here... http://techdocs.shimano.com/techdocs/blevel.jsp?JSESSIONID=Lyv3qj45yly5hZHCrn7R2MWf6Cs3vwQZlhLRDSkPy670BkP9yHGT!1127588273&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474395181679&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302051164&bmUID=1215455800418
Don't know why they wouldn't be able to order them. And do you mean they didn't know how to replace it?? That's odd for an LBS to say. Sounds like you're on the right track by looking for another shop...

I can replace it myself I was just after the part from them and they said their suppliers would be unable to source it. I asked about dropping the whole wheel off at the shop and have it sent to shimano to be replaced and the guy looked at me funny and said I don't know if we could send a whole wheel in?
I've just moved here from NZ and my bikes arrived last week (finally) so was looking fwd to getting out but have been hampered by the inability to find a decent shop.
I'm going to Houston within the week to get some fishing supplies (another hobby of mine) and was hoping to be able to find a decent shop to go to down there.
