And can someone recommend me a good route? Say I was going to come from Sacramento and take the Blue and Gold across to Pier 1. I'd like to ride across GG; Would it be best to just ride down Embarcadero toward the Marina? From there, how do I get on the bike path? Once across the bridge, how many miles would I be at and where should I go from there?
I was planning to mountain bike in Tahoe tomorrow, but the smoke is going to cause me to cancel it I think. Just trying to figure out a backup ride (on the road) to be safe :)
The smoke is not too bad on the Embarcadero in SF (I'm in Pier 9), a bit hazy, but riding should be no problem.
This is a very popular route called the Paradise Loop:

You could also take Highway 1>Panoramic>Mt. Tam, which would be 50+ miles.

Some air quality reports/forecasts:

Most of the San Francisco peninsula and Marin are in the moderate range today, even with the high temperatures. Air quality gets worse farther inland.

Nice route, thanks. My friend up in Tahoe says it's beautiful up there and hopefully will be tomorrow. We'll probably end up riding there but we'll see.. :D
