Heading up to Boston this week... any unique or 'gotta see' bike shops that I should know of? Just looking for something to do at night since I will be w/out my wheels.

I like Somerville. Belmont Wheelworks is in the next town over, but I think of it
as Somerville. It's a huge shop, with tons of goodies, that spill over into another shop around the corner.

Somerville has some of the best coffee on the East Coast.

Red's Barbeque is so cool it has bicycle valet parking.

If you are new to Boston... we will need to know what your interests are. There's
a ton of museums and shows and things to do.

I also like Cambridge. You can find a fistful of bookshops there, a decent hifi store, a tea house, good mexican food, great ice cream (there's this one place that has the craziest flavors you ever saw, if you see it, try some), a terrific home cooking style place. And more... on the way in town from Boston you pass a shop that sells games. It's one of only a couple places on the Eastern seaboard you can buy a decent Go board. They even have good Go books.

I love the Boston Aquarium.

Btw, you can get anywhere pretty easy.

If you feel like spending some dough, you could always get scalped tickets for Fenway. There's your Boston experience right there.

Look up Wheelworks, they have a few shops. Belmont Wheelworks is in, you guessed it, Belmont. Ace Wheelworks is in Somerville last time I checked. Good shops.

hey if you're still in Boston and feel like biking you could stop by Landry's Cycle (http://www.landrys.com/storelocations/Boston/default.aspx), where you can rent a bike for a day and go on historical guided bike tours around Boston. Renting and guided tours are pricey but much more worth it than bus tours. Alternatively, you could rent a bike and take yourself on a tour as they'll give you a free map with routes, but you'll have to do without the historical bit.

Landry's is the best LBS around. They've got some good gear and the people are all very knowledgeable and really cool. I've been to other LBS' around here (many others) and none have been as good.
