On a Jamie Roy frame (wanted to go to Mark V, but the measurements told me to go to a 50 cm frame - the invoice says 50mm. WHAT?), fixed+fixed (14+16T) and front brakes.

I called IRO, and a lady answered the phone. Says it will be 3-4 weeks, a bit long if you ask me (want to get it tomorrow!) but no more shopping around!

I love my Jamie Roy, I'm sure you will too, the wait will kill but it will be worth it.

I'm on week 4 1/2 waiting for my Angus and checking my e-mail everyday waiting for a shipping invoice.

I spent MONTHS waiting for mine to come in this winter/spring. My LBS was ordering a whole whack of frames to build up for the start of the season, Anguses of various sizes, one of them with my name on it. Towards the end I nearly ended up playing therapist for the owner. He looks pretty upset about the fact that it was taking so long. A lot of people were waiting for their frames, and he was waiting on IRO. When you have upwards of $10k worth of sales in limbo... well, let's just say I felt for him. He called them right then and there to try to get an update. No-go. He said he was this close to just ordering a bunch of Bareknuckles or something... Couple of weeks later they finally showed up. I got mine the day they came in.

Was it worth the wait? Yes. I just wish I hadn't missed so much of the early season... Thankfully the weather was kind of ****e anyway...

I'm scared that the frame is out of stock but would hope that they would shoot me an e-mail or call me if that was the case. I'm probably just going to call them tomorrow to put my mind at ease though because if it didn't come until fall I would probably cry.

Before too long I think I will probably be ordering a Mark V or Angus frame from them - I'll definitely be sure to call before hand and check how long the wait might be so I'm not spam-refreshing my email every day expecting something! These guys have a great rep, and obviously the bikes are in high demand. Can't wait to eventually get one =].

Sweeeeet. What are your plans for it?

Yeah it's sweeet just thinking about it now. I'm planning to commute (7 miles total), and Ijust bought a guide book to New England bike trails. Fewer than half are paved, but that's still more than a dozen, so that's okay. :)

I did see on the IRO website that the Jamie Roy frames were back in stock, and since they told me it was going to be 3-4 weeks, I pray I wouldn't have to wait for months. My current cheapo MTB is literally falling apart!

Anyone else order a bike from IRO recently? I ordered a Jamie Roy last week. After placing the order, what should be the next message you get from them? Would it be the shipping invoice when they actually ship the bike out? Or do they tell you when they start to build the bike? I would like to at least hear from them to know that my bike is in the build process or something.

i'm sure you could call, but give it 3-4 weeks at least. they're probably too busy to keep everyone updated each step of the way. and for having it built up, for how few people they've got, 3-4 weeks isn't that bad, really. ANT mike takes at least a year...vanilla takes like 5 years...ridiculous!

just think - in six months you won't even remember having to wait for it.

My Mark V was ordered 5/29, arrived 7/1. WELL worth the wait for my first fixie, absolutely in love with the bike.

Why won't IRO allow me to build a Mark V with a flip-flop FG/SS without brakes? I don't want to use the brakes they offer, or if I need to why do they insist on a rear brake? I would prefer not having it installed and ruining the paint. I can build a bike with a fixed or a FG/FG hub without brakes...

I guess I might have to get the frame from them and do the build myself...

I've been riding a Jamie Roy - fixed - since March. It's a great riding bike. I was really lucky when I ordered mine I had it about seven days from the time I placed my order. Tony is a really good guy and he sells great products. My JR is a 50cm also. You're going to really enjoy riding this bike. Best of luck!

I rode a Mark V for a good 8 months and the frame was very reliable. I loved riding that thing. Very strong and solid. The only thing i didnt like about IRO are their super heavy forks. I replaced mine with a carbon one and it make such a huge difference. Hope you get your frame in soon. I know all about the anticipation and all that good stuff waiting on something to come.

I've been trying to order a Mark V or Angus frameset since mid last week, but haven't been able to get any response (phone or email). Anybody know the approx order to ship time on a frameset that is in stock? Is this 3-4 weeks, or am I reading things wrong in this thread?

i had to wait 5 weeks to get my cracked group buy warrantied, but it was worth the wait. at one point, i called tony to ask about what was up and off the top of his head he knew the timeline and situation regarding my frame, which was pretty impressive. - this is now my 3rd iro frame and i've loved each one (mark v, bfssfg, bfssfg 2).

^yeah i'd like to know too, i'm thinking about ordering an angus. it seems odd that there would be any shipping delay for just a frame thats in stock.

I'd like to know this as well. I can understand a complete will take longer to build/ship, but shouldnt just a in-stock frameset be rather quick?

I called Tony yesterday and asked him about shipping/time frame on just a frameset. 1 day to package and about 2-3 days to ship (2 states away).

I called them this morning regarding my Jamie Roy build. Tony picked up; I gave him my information, he then relayed it to his kids/employees, and then I heard a girl scream out to him "That one's going out today". I checked my email a coupe hours later, and sure enough, a shipping notification from UPS was there. For those who are curious, I ordered my bike 7/14 at night, received the shipping notification today (8/5), and expected delivery is 8/12.

They're a small shop, if they don't get to the phone, they don't get to the phone... Just be patient - it's sounding like peak season for their product right now meaning they're probably running around all crazy trying to keep up with demand.

I'd love a JR or Mark V... but my next build has to be a touring rig... my Rob Roy will have to wait for her sister :D

PS. I really love my Rob Roy, IRO's are worth the wait IMO.

when you guys ordered from IRO, when did they charge your credit card? (Immediately / when it shipped / some time in between?)

I was finally able to get Tony on the phone yesterday and decided to order a Mark V frameset. I had a problem ordering online and was able to get in today on the phone again and get my order in.

I've now got a tracking number scheduled to be delivered Friday.

I'll be the first to admit that it can be a pain to get in touch with them, but I was very suprised that he was completely laid back and not in any hurry to get me off the phone.

Anyone know what "HELD BY ORIGIN LOCATION" mean? My bike was shipped through UPS and that is what the current status of it is.

Might be a long shot, but maybe ask UPS that question?

when ordering a frameset, does Tony cut the steerer tube or does he leave it uncut?
