Hi,
Does anyone know if its possible to install a hub motor on a walmart Ezip without making any major changes, (controller etc )

I suppose the question that I should ask is, Why? Has the original motor died, - or proven to be unreliable?
Something tells me that you might be breaking entirely new ground with this conversion/upgrade.

Hi Sianelle,
The ezip is only few months old and working as it should, But after reading about the hassel of removing back wheel, grease on gears and drilling holes to cool for 36v batt lol . Im looking for a lazy way to get a little more speed and less noise with reliabilty on a low budget. The sparrow hub wheel Im looking at is $199 but If i need other parts its not worth it as complete kit is only $299. The only good thing is it will appear to be a common street legal ebike from walmart lol

rodalan Interesting idea. Do you propose to have two throttles, left hand sparrow, right hand currie to go with the two controllers and XX batteries. Please keep us informed.
