There is much better riding only a couple hours away.

It is one of the best trails in the Charlotte region thats not 2+ hours away. I ride out there at least once a week. It has some good climbs with fast descents, and some technical areas. I would highly recommend it. The only problem is that the trail use to be free to use, seeing as the trailblazers built it for free, and that it existed before the White Water Center. But now the White Water Center charges you 5 bucks to park. Check out the website that Gastro posted and look for Shermans Branch and Poplar Tent for other great rides in the area.

I will down there in Charlotte for a day or two and will be riding this trail. Looking at " http://www.tarheeltrailblazers.com/ (http://www.tarheeltrailblazers.com/) " it seems like there is a decent number of trails down there.

It will be nice to ride a different part of the country for a day.

The trails are pretty good. I've driven up (from Greenville, SC) a couple of times to ride with a friend of mine up there. It's a little short for just the main loop but if you take all the side loops you can get about 11 miles (I think) out of it. Most of it is pretty fast and fairly smooth. Nothing too rough and the only really steep climbs are pretty short. If you're going to be in Charlotte for a longer period of time and are interested in trying more there are better trails around. Lake Norman state park had some AWESOME trails. I only got to ride about 12 miles worth but I hear there's more.

That sucks. :( I think the lowest number I was told of anyone I talked to was 16. Lame. That's alright someone sent me a website of a bunch of trails in the Charlotte area so as soon as I find that again I'll check some other places out nearby.
