Try putting your measurements into the calculator at www.wrenchscience.com. I tried it the other day and it came back with numbers that very closely matched my most comfortable road bike.

I also am thinking of getting a crosscheck. I am 5'10" and I fit a 55cm top tube. The 52cm crosscheck has a 54.7cm effective top tube length, so that is probably what I will get.
