Europe - Como area hotels and or places to stay

I am looking to stay in the COMO area during October of this year. Ihope to catch the Mediofondo Giro di Lombardia as well as the race while I am there.

A few questions..

What is the weather like in the area at that time of the year? Has anyone been to visit around that time?

?Hotel....I will be there for a week. The trip is to ride..I will be on my own or with others I don't need to entertain so the focus is on riding. I would gladly forgo the romantic lake view for an alley way hotel that has room for my bike and a good place to eat close by.

I believe I am planning to take my bike but am not totally sure at this point.

I would love to any thoughts you might have on the area....

I think the weather will be warmish (15-20C) but likely to change. I think there will be a big difference between the beginning of October and the end of October.

Check out tripadvisor.com for hotels. You may struggle to find much accommodation in Como but just outside or even in Chiasso there may be more.

I did use the info.. :) thanks...I have a change of location. I will be in the Lake Garda area..

I found many place in the Como area it was just logistics that was causing the issues...
