Report: Centennial Trail To Be Closed July 14, 2008-March 20, 2009 ( Urgent )
Description: The Centennial Trail between Lockport and Romeoville will be closed from July 14, 2008-March 20, 2009.
The Forest Preserve District of Will County and Chevron reached an agreement years ago that the trail would be closed for a time each year to allow Chevron Environmental to do remediation along the I & M State Trail through the former Texaco Refinery.
The trail will reopen on March 20.
WTH would Chevron want to close the trail real early this year. Wish they waited til September when the SR-7 high bridge and High Rd. will reopen to traffic. I'm thinking of boycotting that area the rest of this year. They might as well rip the trail up if we don't get much chance of riding on it.
