Hi,

I've got a triple 26-36-48 crank set currently (Shimano M442/M443), which isn't too hot. However, I managed to bend it a bit during a small accident and now really need to replace it.

However, I found out that there aren't so many triple cranks with 48T rings. Money is not a big issue, as I expect a crank to last a while. Any recommendations?

I found out two combinations with about a similar price:

Truvativ Firex 3.3 Trekking +
Truvativ GXP Ceramic MTB BB

Shimano XT 2008 M771 Hollowtech II +
Acros A-BB MT HollowTech II Ceramic BB

Anything to say about these? Naturally I could go with a cheaper regular BB, but that really is not the point...

I have the XT cranks (2006) with the 48t big ring on my Max (winter/commuting). I've been very happy - the BB is smooth despite being exposed to the elements and the chainrings seem to have stood up to wear well.

I can't comment on the Truativ cranks but if they are the same price, I'd go with the XT.
