I've been commuting for about a month. Last week, I bought an InStep Quick n EZ from craigslist for $40 (Plus $15 in gas and tolls to drive out to the boonies of McKinney to pick it up). On the way home, I stopped off at Richardson Bike Mart in Frisco to pick up a helmet for my two year old. I got a Giro ME2 with duckies on it that he seemed to like.

He wore it 3 times in the first week and the fabric fell off which caused the webbing to fall out. Incredibly bad design if you ask me.

Anyway, I had lost the receipt in that time. I took it back to RBM Richardson near my house and showed it to them. They were as upset about it as me and told me to pick out any other helmet I wanted for a straight-up exchange, no receipt needed. I picked up another (a trek model) for $5 more which they told me not to worry about paying.

Of course, if I could get my 2 year old to stop asking for his "ducky hat" and wear the new airplane helmet, life would be easier.

Welll some good news for you. My 6 year has a Trek Helmet he got when he was 3. Now he hates his 'kiddie' helem and wants a real helmet with skulls .

RBM is a family owned business and truly seem to care about their customers. I have been shopping with them since the 1980's. I love that place. Plano Cycling and Fitness is also family owned and gets a fair share of my business as well.

My wife's sister now lives in Plano, and we were down there last Thanksgiving. I visited the store just off Coit, and bought some takeoff pedal w/clips to add to my daughter's trailerbike. Turns out the thread shafts were the wrong size 1/2" vs 9/16". I called from NY, and they sent me brand new ones at no charge, or return of the incorrect ones! Unbelieveable service.

I hope they have a long, happy run!
