So after working today at the bike shop, I left a bit early as it was slow. I normally go home around 5:00pm, but today I left at 4:00 pm. I almost always commute to the shop, it just seems weird to drive to a bike shop :)

Anyhow my commute usually takes me about 30 min or so, and I often ride in the dark as the sun sets around 4:25 pm or so. Today I was lucky enough to ride in daylight as the sun set. It was pretty warm today, in the low 60's and I didn't even wear a jacket today, just a short sleeve jersey with arm warmers... My commute takes me in a south west direction and I must say I haven't seen a nicer sunset in a long time, I just felt really great to be on the bike riding towards this sunset, after working a day in a bike shop :) I'm really thankful to be able to work there and commute too, I figured I would share my story with you guys :D

I hope everyone had a good ride

jealousy rising, rising, ...falling...
thats awesome, i wish i had been having the same luck here. right now its dark when i leave to go to work and to go home, but in the spring and fall i often ride right during sunrise, and get to watch it come up over the potomac river and the monuments of the natiosn capitol. feels that much more beautiful seeing it thru sunglasses instead of a window and without the honking of horns and blare of radios (or the jangling of derailleurs, i ride a fixed to work :))

You get to see and appreciate so many more things in life while on the seat of a bike.

That just about says it all, I've seen some gorgeous sunsets here over the last few years -- the sort of thing one takes their time to appreciate. When the rain stops, I might even consider providing some of you with a 90F sunrise.
