They had better leave the cable disc brakes alone!

But more power to SRAM! Shimano needs some more competition.

Shimano isn't going anywhere.Hopefully sram doesn't screw up Avid's stuff.

I think it would be stupid on SRAMs part to even mess with the most successful disc brake in history. I doubt they'd do that. I have a feeling they'll let Avid do what it's always done and perhaps give them a little financial backing. I doubt they'd do anything to jeopardize that standing. I love my Avid discs. If I could only find out why they were dragging dammit!

This will hurt Shimano quite badly.

Not to turn this into a Shimano bashing thread....

But they've discontinued an extremely popular product (Rapidfire) and SRAM will pick up the people who still want to run the rapidfire type stuff. Shimano might start producing the rapidfire stuff again if SRAM really starts to sell a ton of it.

I can see it now. SRAM buys Avid and intergates the avid brakes so that they only work with sram shifters and sram hubs(i know they dont exist). Sound familiar? If sram were to do this there would be some SERIOUS competition in the mtb industry between sram and shimano

That would be stupid. That would kill the market for thier products created by Shi*No's use-us-or-else "standardization"

SRAM needs to do something about that clickbox in their internal gear hubs... As long as Avid V Ti's and Ultimates continue to be available... though I always dislike seeing companies merge -- feels like the world gets a little smaller everytime...

What's that watermellon doing there?
