Drove the 75 miles to the shop I had gone to this weekend, and the owner of the shop was out fishing again, however this time at least a manager was there who was able to shoot me a trade in value on my '03 Fanatik. THe first offer he made was $400, and I told him he would have to do better than that as I could part it out and get more for it. By the time all the haggling was done I walked out with a new Trek 2.3, a set of clipless pedals, and about $150 worth of accessories for $1100 after trade in.

I spent several hours going over and riding a 2.1 Pilot, and 2 different sizes of the 2.3. The Pilot was a 56cm which was alright, but when I would go to mash down and accelerate I could feel the frame flexing which I didn't really care for. The 56cm 2.3 flet like I was jammed up on top of my hands. The final decision after making a few adjustments was to go with a 58cm 2.3. We just had to flip the stem, and tweek the seat adjustments a bit. That thing is like a rocket on the street compared to the Full Suspension bike I was riding.

I know it took a couple of days, but here they are. I know the pics aren't great but the camera was cheap.

Sweet, welcome to the world of faster bikes. ;)

Wait til you go to a full race rig, by the way. ;) You might terrify yourself!

As a fellow Trek 2.3 owner, congrats on your new purchase. :)

If you are anything like me, you will absolute LOVE that bike. I've only had her for about a month, but I can't think of a single negative thing about her.

Congrats, as a new bike owner myself, i know the feeling. :D It's funny that I test rode the 2.1 Pilot and 2.3 and felt the same way about the Pilot. It was comfortable, but felt sluggish. The problem around here is that the 2.3 was sold out in most shops. Glad you found one though, now go out and enjoy that thing.

That is a beautiful bike!

Bummer to hear you had to drive 75 miles just to get to the shop though. I keep forgetting how good we have it out here as there are at least 10 shops within a 20 mile radius.

Enjoy the new wheels.
