Tour de France - What I've learned during this year's tour...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I learned that Bobke knew that LA was faking his rough patch before Alpe D'Huez.

I learned that Bobke speaks passable Italian, making his intentional butchering of French that much better.

I learned that I can watch the same commercial of babes shaking booty for Bacardi several times a day for three weeks without getting tired of it.

Saab, are you listening?

I learned that bar tenders with wooded sticks control the sound system in bars, backyards and on boats. I also learned that no matter how many times I watch it, none of the women have equipment failures.

I learned that 3 weeks of constant Saab commercials still won't make me want to BUY one.

I learned that the 9-midnight show expects to have a lot of guys watching who need a bit of help with "the certain part of the male body " , drink lemon aid that is spiked, and watch televised bar fights, and may paint their faces and squeal like a girl.

I learned that Trek makes bikes, but still can't advertise without Lance.

I learned that Cervelo makes bikes, but I can't afford any of them.

I learned that Specialized bikes make themselves in the middle of the night.

I learned that VWs only come in white and the sales guy can't tell the customer to NOT go fast near that one telephone pole, where the CHP guy is waiting.

Oh, and I learned that Cavandish is one fast dude, if you get him to the end of a stage !

+1... And in addition; In spite of the shortcommings in coverage by versus and the dissapointment in continuing doping scandals (albeit less then previous years ?) a little melancholy when it's all over.

Vive Le Tour !!
