I've got to fill out this crappy rental application and send it back via email.

What is the best .pdf editor for windows? It doesn't have to be open source or freeware.

is it already an editable PDF or do you want to edit a PDF you've received?
You can open it in Illustrator or Photoshop and edit (I'm an illustrator fan myself)

It's not editable. It's just a scanned application form that I need to insert text into. Way back when I used to use Foxit but I wasn't sure what people are using for such tasks these days.

Maybe I can fire up GIMP and see if that works. The opensource editor available in Linux just isn't cutting it...there's no undo! :(

Export the PDF to a bitmap, edit in GIMP, convert back to PDF using something else?

Print, use whiteout, edit, scan, then email. :D

I am using the new version of Foxit. Works better for inserting text.

For PDF editing I would use Scribus, for acctully looking at PDFS, i usaly go with GV.

What Linux one are you reffering to, with no undo?

(The GIMP will surley not open any pdfs.)

In linux I was just using something called pdfeditor. I found a program for windows called Bluebeam pdf revu with more features than foxit, but it is much easier to insert text with foxit and that is all I really need it to do.
