Ok so in the summer of 2006 I bought a Cannondale Rush 800...I have ridden a grand total of 7 times since then. :( Time to face facts...I am a roadie and this thing is just hanging in the garage collecting dust. Priorities are changing and my cycling time is only going to lessen so I am going to sell the Rush. But what is it worth? I listed it on my local Craigslist for $1400 knowing (I think) that it is a little high.

For those that want them here are the specs:

Frame Rush, 110 mm
Fork Lefty Speed Bonded DLR2, 110 mm
Rear Shock FOX Float R
Rims Mavic XM117 Disc, 32 hole
Hubs Cannondale Lefty front, Shimano M475 rear
Spokes DT Swiss Champion
Tires IRC Serac XC, 26 x 2.1"
Crank FSA V-Drive MegaExo, 22/32/44
Chain Shimano 9-speed
Rear Cogs SRAM PG-950, 11-34
Bottom Bracket FSA V-Drive MegaExo
Front Derailleur Shimano LX
Rear Derailleur Shimano XT
Shifters Shimano LX Dual Control
Handlebars FSA XC-281AOS, 25 mm rise
Stem Cannondale XC3 HeadShok, 31.8 mm
Headset Cannondale HeadShok Si
Brakeset Shimano LX
Brakelevers Shimano LX Dual Control
Saddle Specialized Rival
Seat Post FSA FR-270

I have also added a bash guard but still have the new large ring. Shock pump will go with it as well as a Specialized Turbo 2 computer and the required Lefty computer mount.

So hardly ridden Rush with Lefty is worth?

Yea um ok. Seriously I am not looking for a sale from BF...I want to sell it locally so I don't have to ship it.

Retail was $2200 new...I paid like $1900 I think but added a few things. I am thinking it is worth about half the original MSRP plus a few...maybe $1100-$1200.

Am I in the ball park here?

Ive seen them selling for 500 to 900 depending on how hard they have been ridden. List it high and see if anyone bites.

Um holy crap are you serious? $500-$900 for a Rush with Lefty and LX/XT combo?

For that much it can hang there and collect dust.

That sounds low.

But I have an 2000 Rocky Mountain that I wanted to sell to finance another bike. When I checked on the value, I just decided to keep it. Maybe my wife will use it one day. It's a fine bike. I just find it hard to let it go for so little.

Yes, I think you're in the ballpark. Go to e-bay and check out the completed listings, and that price seems to be about right.

Looks like a good lot of people paid in the $1,700 - $2,000 range for theirs new (despite its MSRP). Figuring a used bike (just like most used goods) at half the new value, you're looking at a selling value of $850 - $1000. Your price is a bit ambitious but you will find out soon enough if you get no interest or responses; then you can adjust accordingly.

Unfortunately, you're dealing with a single pivot bike by a company that just introduced two new models. And bikes depreciate fast. Your one saving grace is that you're from central PA, and if memory serves correctly, there are a fair amount of PA bikers who sort of see Cannondale as the holy grail. (Someone at my college had a Jekyll, and a few of my friends and I used to drool over it daily. And I wanted a Prophet for a while too...never bought it though). I also seem to remember State College's Craigslist sort of sucking...if you're serious about selling it, you might want to try posting it in Philly and Pitt too. Put it up toward the lower end of the range you mentioned and throw an "OBO" at the end.

Yea I have it on the State College craigslist...I need to lower the price a little and hold firm until the students come back.

Seriously if I can't get a grand for it I am keeping it.

Yes cannondales are made about 90 miles south west of state college, yea hits will be thin until students come back my guess but all it takes is the right buyer looking.
