I DID enjoy seeing that segment of him in his racing days. Coming out of his pedals in the final sprint and then ranting about how the team doesn't have mechanics, masseuses or a key to the parts van!

Was that on this year?? How could I have missed it?

The Bobke "tribute" was, I think, during the pre-show for Stage 3 on Monday.

They ran several clips the other day from his 7-11 and Motorola days - when I think it was his birthday. Mostly to embarrass him, I think. It WAS very funny in the one clip to see him come out of his pedals TWICE in the last 50-75 km, lose the stage - and then slam his bike down TWICE after he finished. (that's when he ranted about no access to parts, etc.)

It was put together for his birthday (July 7???). I liked how he tossed his bike on the ground.

I miss the commercial where he's pedaling naked on the bike trainer.

I dig Bob as well. Like most, the hand gestures used to bother me but I've gotten over it now. I've read BobkeII and thought it was quite entertaining. I couldn't find BI anywhere but eBay and never pulled the trigger.

His insight is excellent and he tells a great story. I like the way that he thinks when he's keeping his journal. I wish he'd keep an up to date blog because his writing is very funny.

As Bob would say, Sheeit!

My understanding is that Bobke I is all included in BII? BI is very expensive and hard to find.

E mail Verses and maybe they will put it on their web site as a video. It was not of his best moments and he took it pretty well.

I watch the live broadcast at 5:30am PDT and then the "Primetime" show at 5PM just to hear what Bobke has to say. Paul and Phil are great but it wouldn't be the same without Bobke. I miss the crazy Trek commercials he did. Welcome aboard Grudgemonkey.

Is Bob larger than the average TdF cyclist, or is just his head?

One year during the broadcast he demonstrated how to pop the cork from a champagne bottle with a single swipe of a sword.

You don't develop skills like that unless you're being invited to some seriously cool parties.

Word. That was very funny. Then he licked the sword...

Anyone else catch his Leakygas pronunciation a couple days ago? Bobke rules...

I think that IS the pronunciation - at least, to my ear, that's the same way Phil & Paul pronounce it.

Correct.

The only reason to buy Bobke I would be as a collector. (which I don't really get, but apparently some find value.)

Yes and yes.
