Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Power grip toe straps

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Are these ****ty to use or great?

somewhere in the middle
they're super super convenient, and give pretty good foot retention, but so do clips and straps. in fact, there are no real advantages over clips and straps other than that they accommodate boots.

I like mine. I have the XL strap version and they go nicely with my size 14's. Most toe clips just don't work with my feet.

I liked them a lot when I would be pedaling seated. They can feel very snug and still be easy to get in and out of. However, when really pulling up on the pedals, like skidding or climbing, I would really have to push my heels inward to not have the straps loosen up (they would not get loose at the clip, but would just untwist, if you know what I mean). Also, the metal tabs extended past my pedals, which increased my chances to pedal strike. I actually bent one of the tabs out of shape by striking a pedal. Overall, I liked clips and straps a lot better.
