For TT racing- should I go with Tubulars or Clinchers? Is there ahuge difference anymore?

I'd say go clincher. The weight saving is in the rim, and that'll only be 30-50g. The tires themselves weigh about the same. The extra 50g -- if you even have an extra 50g -- will only be noticeable in VERY explosive sprints and steep climbing, neither of which you will be doing for TTs. And to be honest, tubulars can be a BIG pain if you're unsupported.

Tubulars- They corner and roll better than clinchers and the rim/tire combo for tubular tires is usually lighter than similar clincher set-ups.

Well if your lucky enough to be able to only use the wheels for time trialing I would say go tubular. In a time trial you need to take advantage of every little thing to shave those seconds off your time. Tubulars will weigh less, and you will be able to inflate them to a higher pressure which will decrease rolling resistance.

For my 2 cents I say go with tubulars for the TT with one
caveat. Don't buy cheap tubulars !!
They ride worse than clinchers and wear even faster.
I'm riding Conti Sprinters (can be found for about $30 per).
The nice thing about tubulars is you can pump them up nice and hard
(140 psi or more), I wouldn't ever try that with a clincher.

EXACTAMUNDO! Ray Ban & Lotek are right. Tubulars are the way to go provided they are quality ones and the rims should be high quality as well. Depending what rim/hub combos & material construction you use a tube wheel is light and lightning fast. If you have a blowout on either type the race is over anyways. I would first look at the road conditions for the TT you'll be doing and decide from there. In my area it's a mix of pavement types but even then I haven't had problems with tubulars.
I have a set of each type for my bikes and I can most definitely feel the advantage of tubulars over the clinchers when racing.

Do you know how to fix tubulars? If not I reccomend stay away as it can get expensive.
If you do opt for tubulars go with high quality. I love the Vittoria Corsa series. No other tire in the market is as good inside as these.
Clicnhers have come a long ways and nowdays you can get really good clinchers. A bit cheaper in the long run and highly reccomended.
Look at Hutchinson, Vittoria, Veloflex and Michelin as my reccomendations.
