Finally broke the 10 km barrier!!!! :giver:

Took the dog out for a bike/run and felt so good that I went back out on my own for an official total of 13.5km YAY!
And I threw in the hills, the park, everything.

The advice to concentrate on spinning is working REALLY well. You guys rock!!

Good job, before you know it you'll be doing 100km! :)

Well done. I managed 25km the first time I got on a bike after being sedentary for quite a while. I thought I was going to die. I've kept at it and am now doing 200km a week and my longest one day ride was 250km.
I'm not special. Keep going. Keep enjoying it and keep reaching for those milestones. It becomes a habit and I find a get a bit annoyed if I don't get a ride in for a couple of days.

It's guys like you that are the real inspiration of the Clyde forum.

Thanks!

Its only been 2 months and my distance is up almost 5X what it was in the beginning. I'm still feeling really good today so next week I can officially start commuting one way to work, and soon both directions!

Oh yeah and I had a slip and fall (non-bike related, tragic Dim Sum injury:injured:) 1 1/2 weeks ago that had me on crutches for a few days which makes the milestone all the sweeter. :speedy:

That's great - congrats. Funnily enough I did a hilly 13.5 km a couple of weeks ago - I'm aiming for 10 miles this weekend with the same hills.

You're definitely right about the spinning - that's saving my knee :)

The progress feels good, doesn't it? :)

Yay! Keep going!

I can always tell when I've been mashing; my knees start to ache. Keep spinning and they don't.
