Does anyone know how steep that 2 mile grade is along Skyline Dr. from Westline Dr. up to Westmoor? Some of it was not bad but there was a part up to the water tank where I almost broke my buns trying to climb.

Using www.gmap-pedometer.com and its elevation profile and distance, I calculate 338ft/3760ft = 9% avg grade.

Hey thanks Blast, I haven't used that particular tool. I'll play with it today.

edit: There is one .66 mile stretch that Gmap shows as a 14% grade. Handy tool, thanks!

My Garmin shows that the highest grade is 10% (on that section).
The route is from Lake Merced to 92/Canada.
There's another section (short) that is 12%, when turning to right on Trousdale (from Hunt Dr.) to meet back up with Skyline

Hi zorrov999, I probably figured it wrong, going to have to work on it more, or get one of those fancy doodads (Garmin), LOL. I was scouting out that area couple days ago with plans to eventually go down to Woodside and beyond. Back in the 70's, I used to go that way all the time to ride Alpine, Tunitas, San Gregorio.
