"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - Chad Gerlach - Intervention

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Anyone catch this on A&E? I'm not a racer, but am curious to know what the pressure is like at this level. His problems were created by himself and his personality from what I saw, but in this era of doping and access to performance-enhancing (in his case, performance-killing) drugs, is there more at the top? Is behavior like this more common in high-level cycling?

I saw this show too. I was pretty riveted start to finish. I found myself frequently taking his side with regard to the him vs his parents rift.
Anyone who actually knows about it probably won't be willing to talk.
But I can tell you that at the cat3 level in the midwest, there isn't much doping going on. :)

there are people who are in worse situations who come out on top. The way he treated his parents and others made me sick.

I recorded it. As a father, Intervention is one of the most sobering and disturbing shows out there. Not limited to Chad, it seems the common thread in all of these shows is the breakup of the parents. Everytime I watch it, I thank my lucky stars I have wife with a high tolerance for suffering fools(at least one fool). Now I've got 7 years tor worry about what's going to happen when my daughter becomes a teen.
Time to start building the tower to lock her away in.

I came across Chad's Intervention on YouTube. It turns out Chad punched Lance Armstrong. It's interesting because there's always two sides of the story.
