Mountain Biking - A reminder for those who have not hurt themselves yet.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

The nature of this guy's crash was bad.
Never get too confident immediately after you nail it the first time. Even though you nailed it for the first time does not mean you'll now nail it every single time now. Please be careful when jumping your bike or doing any form of riding that can cause any kind of serious injury.
Some of my worst crashes were from getting overconfident.

Thats an odd comment. I don't know anyone who wants to get hurt when they ride. Don't assume if someone is doing something you believe to be dangerous that they are looking to get hurt.
I feel for the guy. Best of wishes to him

I dunno, I have a motto: "If you ain't bleeding or broken, you went too easy!"
However, I hope he heals quickly!
Reading stuff like this just reinforces my DJ fears.

poor guy...but if you want to be successful at something you are gonna have to take chances. you just gotta keep trying and trying till you land it...or until you have no more power to try again. when it comes to jumping/hucking or whatever...there is risk involved for novices and pros...it a risk everyone takes.
if you do take the risk...wear the protective gear to ensure your safety. i dont care if people laugh at me if im wearing a full face with leg and arm armor on, if i take a crash..it wont hurt as much and i feel more secure. ill drop the money on a pressure suit when i start doing more extreme stuff...better to drop 100-200 bucks now rather than spend 10x that much on medical bills and months of pain and recovery.
