My road bike has the older shimano 9 speed set up. Up front I have a ultegra bottom bracket/crank/derailler. I bought these componenets about 6 years ago. In the back i have a dura ace derailler and a newer 9 speed dura ace cassette.

I think it is time for a new bottom bracket. I am wondering if I could upgrade to the newer hollowtech style bottom bracket with a matching crank but retain my other parts. Is this possible?

Thanks for the replies. It is almost hard for me to believe that it is that simple, i expected you guys to say yes but you are going to have this and this problem.

I think what i currently have is a ultegra/dura ace 6500 9speed set up. I can't believe i can just go buy a new 10 speed crank and bottom bracket and my front derailler will work and my 9speed chain will be compatible with the 9 speed cassette and the newer crank, etc.

It just seems too easy, thanks for the replies.
