what is the probability of finding old team bikes? and how or where would one go about finding them? Are they generally expensive or reasonably reasonable? just wondering....

Alot of team bikes get auctioned off at the end
of the season, usually with proceeds going to some
charity.
If the bike is known, and historically significant
(Eddie Merckx's hour record bike, Lance's 5th tour bike),
it usually ends up either on display in a museum or kept
by the rider. I've heard that Eddie's hour bike is in a closet in his factory.
Team bikes are generally expensive, and the prices go up
with the significance of the bike.
I've seen some team frames on e-bay, anywhere from
reasonable, to exorbident.
