Hi: Does anyone have any insights into Liberty Ebikes? I'm thinking of getting the 48volt city bikes. Searched everywhere but doesn't seem like anyone has ever bought one. Thanks.

they look okay - i can't vouch for reliablility or availability of spare parts, though.

Ok...I finally decided to pluck down a thousand bucks and purchased the 48volt city bike. So far I am pretty impressed with it. I can ride it with my significant other in the rear seat (although it is very harsh on her butt). I'll probably make a more cushiony back seat. Anyway we were able to take it for a long ride (approx 4 to 5 miles) with plenty of juice according to the battery gauge. We did have problems getting up a very steep hill but made it with some hard pedalling at the top of the hill. Within the first hour of riding, we had two people stop us to ask what kind of bike is it and where they can get one. Everywhere I go, people look puzzled, even the police. Since I only have the bike for a week, it's hard to say how reliable it is down the road. But otherwise I love this bike.

I have a Liberty 443 Mountain bike. I have had it for about 9 months. I have put a lot of miles on that bike without a single problem. It is strong as an ox, quiet as a whisper, and more fun than any toy I've ever owned.
I am 228 lbs and 68 years old. I have had it up to 19 miles per hour. I get about 25 miles out of a charge as long as I do some peddling (very little hills).
The people where I bought the bike are just super. You can always reach them by phone to ask questions, and they love to talk to you about their bikes.
