So I finally decided to purchase a fgss bike after riding my mtb since forever. So i ordered no hesitation a Dawes SST on a 6/30 then finally tuesday payment goes through because i get the ups number and it stays on "Billing Info Received" for a couple days. I email them my name and they said UPS hasn't updated it yet. few days later I email again they said it will update the following day (this is just before 7/4) and the following monday i receive and email from "mike" i guess the boss of bikes direct saying oh its a ups scanning problem...let me know if the bike shows up...and behold the day the bike is supposed to arrive 7/8 no bike (not surprised) so i check my email and it shows that they tried to email me (lie) and they will refund me.

So BD wasted a week of my time. I emailed them and the responded if my bike had been shipped. If it took them a week to email me it was sold out so their "Customer Service" team just responded to any bull they get. It's not hard to check your inventory if you are sold out. It is not hard to check your shipping list to see if you had shipped or sold a bike. Everyone who works there is a joke.

So heads up anyone who orders from Bikes Direct. please dont

After reading many Thread's and as a recent customer still waiting a respond from BD email customer service, I think the big issue here is the slow rate of communications between BD and us the consumers.

I won't complain without offering a solution so here goes.

THEY SHOULD PROVIDE CUSTOMERS WHO ACTUALLY PURCHASE A PRODUCT WITH A NUMBER TO CALL IN CASE OF PROBLEMS. I BELIEVE THIS WOULD HELP BOTH PARTIES COMMUNICATE BETTER RESULTING IN HAPPY CUSTOMERS AND A MORE EFFECTIVE CONFLICT RESOLUTION SYSTEM FOR THE COMPANY.

PEOPLE CALL ME A DREAMER, BUT I EXPECT THEY WOULD SELL MORE BIKES TOO.

You went with BD because you wanted a cheap price. Well customer service is expensive... Buy a bike from there cause it is a great deal, but really, you are getting a bike without a real warranty or any customer service. If you haven't figured that out by all the posts about BD yet, then you are really deluded.

I have no idea what kind of volume Bikes Direct sells, but Mike takes the time to personally resolve any issues that come up.

No one is perfect, but he tries.
