Pretty stoked about this one (http://s318.photobucket.com/albums/mm439/jack650/). Current plan is to turn it into a fixie for commute purposes. Although I'm wondering about the color. Should I just designate it as my beater/rain bike? What would you guys do?

That's a pretty nice frame. Lugged, double butted steel, good condition, with that funky triple-triangle thing going on. I'd leave it the color that it is. :)

Thanks, Alex. I'm leaning toward leaving the same color. There are some scratches on the frame already, so I'm thinking of taking it to get a paint job. This will be a good long project!

SO that "triple-triangle"...I'm scratching my head wondering if there's a purpose for that. Or is that just them Shogun-ites trying to be special?

Nice. I had a Shogun in grad school!

IIRC the seatstays crossing the seat tube & brazed to the top tube was for added stiffness. GT did the same thing.

That's a nice find, and I bet will make a pretty cool fixie! Have fun...
